I LOVE Rosemary!!! I plant it all around my deck, not only for the smell, but to keep certain bugs away; like files and mosquitos. Apparently, it is related to mint, although I thought it was related to Lavender.
Rosemary – Rosmarinus officinalis), meaning “dew of the sea”, is native to the Mediterranean area.
This herb has long held a reputation for enhancing memory, honoring the dead, and scattering negative vibrations to the four winds. Ancient Egyptians laid rosemary across coffins to remember and honor the dead. Rosemary is also associated with enhancing memory, which is why at one time, rosemary was added to a couple’s wedding wine so that they would remember their vows.
In modern times, rosemary has been used for relief from joint pain, dandruff, and in antibacterial solutions. Researchers are hopeful that Rosemary may become useful in preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease in the future.
